I thought if you were broken down you were supposed to put your helmet on the ground. That only works if you HAVE a helmet of course.

Although, I've turned around and went back after I've ascertained that he was NOT using a helmet on that trip.
He was taking a smoke break......sigh.
I had the same fate - but YOU did not come along, thank God for Road America... got home, did a LOT of research and am now running

I spent several hours on their testomial page and used the internet and found and talked to several of the "Real" users.... I even run it in my 66 Vette with Knock off wheels..
I agree with the above statement "Be prepared"

I was the last bike in a train heading to the 100'th HD party in 2003. We're riding towards Waterloo, Iowa with nothing but corn all around. I suffered a large cut in my rear tire that a plug kit would not hold. It's getting dark, we had ridden almost 600 miles and there I was. A guy pulls up in his brand new Chevy truck, pulling a trailor with his customed Road King. He offers (and I accepted as I had no choice) to pull his bike off the trailor, load mine, and drive HIS truck with his hot wife into Waterloo to the nearest dealer, while he follows on his bike. And to top it off, he refused all form of payment. Just asked me to do the same if the opportunity comes up.
I learned two things that day.
1. HD riders are the best in the world at helping a fellow rider out
2. Don't hammer on people who trailor their bikes, they may be the one to pick your broke *** up on the road!
I do everything in my power to return the favor for any rider.
