I don't understand how apes are measured. I replaced my stock handle bars on my 09 Road King with the Heritage Style Handle Bars. pn 56902-08.
According to the handle bar measurement chart on page 576 of the 2010 Harley Accessory Catalog the Heritage Style Handle Bars. pn 56902-08 have a rise of 12 inches.
The top of my kuckles are even with the top of the fairing. It's and aftermarket fairing so it may not be a match with a Harley fairing.
So, why are 12' apes higher than my 12 inch Heritage Style Handle Bars.

If they are.
The 56902-08 Heritage bars have an inside rise of 8.5". All the old heritage bars have a inside rise of 8.5". the outside rise is 12", but when referencing rise, I believe you use the inside rise.
The new 09-10 heritage bars (56569-09) I just put on have an inside and outside rise of 9.5 to 10" depending on how I measure them. If you go to wild1 web site, they have a picture of how to measure rise ect.
