Default Quick price check

OK, so I might have a deal pending with a non-HD dealer where I can trade in a polaris side by side we never use for a used HD they have in stock. Here's the deal....

2008 Electraglide Classic. 11k miles. asking 19999.00 (too high IMO). White in color (which I don't like, but I guess I can change that later).

I am a little bit up against a wall because I want a touring bike to go with my softail for long distance jaunts and an opportunity to trade an ATV in on one is a little rare.

What say you all, the touring experts that you are....how much would you pay for this bike?

Thanks for the help in advance...and I hope to spend some time over here on the "couch" side of the forum in the near future!!!

Too much for the EG so it depends on what they offer for your trade. I'd say they are about 2 grand high on the bike.

One way to check prices is to see what bikes on ebay are selling for.

This one went for $15.9k

This one went for $13k

Of course the dealer will accept your trade in and probably finance you so that tips things in his favor.

most HD dealers will take anything on trade to get bikes out the door. yes price is about 2-2.5k too high IMO

I guess you would have to figure how much you could sell the ATV for privately. Plus the hassle of selling it in this economy and weigh that against what they will give you for it.

I would say more like 3 to 4 k too high, but you do need to trade in your ATV...

The 13k bike cant be considered since it was a salvage title. The red one sure seems like a great deal though.

Whats the difference between a salvage title, and a rebuilt title? If i dent the fender on my truck, then have it repaired , is it considered rebuilt? If not ,why is it that way with a harley?.,,

That price is probably high. I bought a 2008 EGC from Pikes Peak Harley in January 2009. 9,000 miles, ABS, cruise, security. Paid $18,500 for it. Bikes were going for more back then, so that price is probably at least $3000 high.
