Default MP3 player probs

Hello all im new to the forum, and recently got my first touring bike a streetglide. Anyway when i hook my MP3 player up the volume gets cut way down almost unhearable when i turn it all the way up. Its a Creative Zen MP3. Anyone have any ideas what would cause this or fixes. Or if a different MP3 like a IPOD touch would do better?

I have a Zune and works great. Make sure your volume is turned all the way up on the MP3.

I have the Ipod nano. I turn the volume up on the nano and use the volume control on the handlebars for the adjustment. Works great.

Same here. I also found that if I record to the nano with the computer software set at half volume, I get better quality and more volume with my amplified speaker system. If I raise the volume on the software before I record to the nano, the peak volume is lower. Also, there may be a setting in the device you have that will only allow you to take the volume up so high. There is on mine. I think it is in settings. I'm not sure. Good luck.

I also have a ZUNE. The volume works great and is plenty loud.

Default Creative Labs Zen

I have a Zen, but I couldn't use it while riding. The volume wasn't great, but my biggest problem was lock-ups. This device doesn't use flash memory and it is VERY sensitive to shock. It would stop playing anytime I hit a decent bump in the road. I would have to stop and insert a pin or paperclip into the small hole on the bottom of the unit to reset it. Then, it would play fine until the next shock. Forget about keeping it in a holder... this happened while it is was in my pocket! Mine was the early model with 32G capacity hd. Yours may be the newer and using flash memory rather hd. I now use a Pioneer Inno for portable XM and MP3. Very handy for road trips.

Ipod 120 GB classic. Tons of tunes...No issues. Just get the dock hook up, not the headphone one...IMO..

Does the Zen has a line out feature? If so be sure to
use the headphone output as "Line out" will have no volume control.

I have a max filled (about 1450 songs) 8gb Creative Zen also, velcroed to inner fairing above the gauges. Volume on max on the Zen, 3.5mm cord from Zen to Aux port on radio. No volume problems.
