after cutting the guts out, will the stock computer adjust the fuel enough so you will not get an engine melt down ?

In the USA I thought only the CVO and california bikes had cats for 09.I have an 09 SG with V&H slip-ons and just did the old broomstick test and no cat. Made it to the lower bend in the front pipe.Feel alittle bad sticking a broomstick in her rear though.

Default 2010 SG Cat removal

I did lots of research before removing the cat on my 2010 SG. I ended up cutting an access panel on the bottom side of the collector; removed the cat and welded the panel back. I cleaned up the welds with a grinder then put a coat of header paint to prevent any rust. Since this done on the bottom side of the collector once the heat shields are installed you can not even see it. I used an air chisel and a small grinding rock to clean everything up once it was removed. The cat is much tougher to remove than I expected. The Cat is very restrictive; it is amazing the engine can even breathe. On the 2010’s the cat is placed in the system after the O2 sensors. I have about 600 miles on the bike since the removal and the pipe is much cooler. I have not had any performance issues since the removal. Some mentioned cross talk between the O2 sensors but since they are in front of the cat I am not sure how removing the Cat would change anything. I am still running the stock muffler for now and it is a little louder but not much. If you have any questions feel free to email me at mikec13@bellsouth.net.

Default Check engine light

I have about 600 miles since removing the CAT and no check engine light or any performance issues just runs much cooler.

You are correct. Only CVO and CA bikes prior to 2010 have the CATS
