Default Engine Light and Code Issues

Ok guys, here's my issue. I had the bike into the local dealer for service last week and they cleared some codes that showed up....they attributed them to having a PCIII installed...not sure why, but they did. I took their word for it and went about my business. Yesterday I noticed that the engine light came on after starting it and it stayed on. I've read other posts on the forum about finding the codes and I did that today. Here is what I have.

Codes:
P1510
P2127
P2138

Pn#'s:
32933-08
68920-07
67557-08

I hold down the odometer button in hopes of clearing out the codes, it says "clear" but after running the bike, they are still there.

What step am I missing in the process or do I have bigger issues? I've had the PCIII, exhaust, handlebars, etc. for over a year now and haven't had any issues. The only thing I can think of is a few weeks ago, I replaced the stock switch housings with chrome ones and in that process, the throttle grip had to be moved, so there might be a chance that I did something to the sensor in the grip.

Bike runs fine from what I can tell. Any thoughts on where I should look first?

Do the map settings on the PCIII have any relationship to this issue? If it was too lean or too rich, would it cause a problem? I only ask because I modified my map a little last week before this issue came up so just curious.

A similar post had the following feedback:
These are TBW sensor codes. Same ones I had before my sensor quit on me. First time they occurred I had no adverse indications other than the engine light.

Second time it happened, bike went into emergency throttle mode in the middle of the highway and I could not reset the codes. Had to disassemble and quick fix in a parking lot.

Pull the twist grip sensor and cut the POS green connector between the TGS and the jumper harness. Use butt connectors to splice the wires together. Clear the codes in the ECM again. All should be well after that.


Any other ideas?

You have a throttle sensor issue

I've been reading post after post about these issues and see your name on most of them. What do you think I should do?

If it's still under warranty take it to the dealer and have them fix it this time.

It is still under warranty, at least for a couple more days. Would this ever be covered if I did all the bar and hand control work myself?

Doubt it. You'll probably need a new jumper harness and/or TGS sensor.

How do these go bad? They certainly don't just wear out two years do they? I only have 5,000 miles on the bike and parts are already going out....not good if you ask me.

So, if I pull the grip off, what might I be looking for? I'm at work right now, otherwise I would look in the service manual...assuming this is even in there.

Did you internally wire the handlebars? If so, did you use the stock sensor or the 32310-08 without the little green clip that is meant for internally wired bars? Something probably snagged inside.
