I would cut out the green connector.

Also have a look at this:

The stock bars were wired internally, so I used the same equipment that was there.

Was hoping to get at this tonight, but it looks like it will have to wait until tomorrow. Thanks for the advice everyone. Any other thoughts?

Default Problem solved!

Well, I did it! Or at least I think I did. I took some time this afternoon and dug into the bike to find out what was causing the codes and engine light issue. Here is what I did.

First, I disconnected the PCIII unit per the local dealers recommendation. According to them, they see this a lot and attribute these codes to the PCIII. I wasn't agreeing to this idea, but thought I would do it anyway. No luck.

Second, I updated the firmware on the PCIII and reloaded the previous map I was using before problems started. Just an idea, since it was something that I had done just prior to the engine light and code issues. No luck.

Third, I took apart the chrome switch housing that I recently installed and took a look at the wiring at the switches and also took a look at the throttle control. No luck.

Fourth, I took the headlight apart to check the wiring connections. I didn't see anything at first, so I started to disconnect the wiring harnesses in an effort to remove the bars so that I could get enough slack to pull out the throttle wiring to see if the sensor had any issues. As I was doing this, I noticed something. A wire was cut just above one of the harnesses, probably about an inch or so. Since I had reviewed the wiring diagrams in the service manual prior to starting this project, I recognized that this was the purple/yellow wire for the throttle control. How it got cut, I have no idea. So, I ran to the hardware store, picked up a box of wire splices and reconnected. Put it all back together and now I have no engine light and no codes.

I have two theories on the cutting of this wire. Because it wasn't in any heat shrink, I'm wondering if it was "hanging" out and got caught on something and when I turned the bars to steer, and maybe cut the wire. My second theory is that maybe it came in contact with the back of the headlamp.....would the heat generated from the bulb ever be hot enough to melt and cut a wire? Just a thought. And of course, I had the another idea that maybe something chewed it....but doubtful.

Thanks everyone for your help. Again, HDF pulls through. Instead of a $300 visit to the local dealer, it only cost me $3 for the wire splices and a lot of sweat since the humidity and temperatures got pretty high today. Took about 4 hours....not bad for someone that doesn't really know much about this stuff.

Later.

any chance anybody knows what the resistances should actually be on the tgs. i read what the voltage output should be, but not how many ohmes you should get through the wires. i'd just take it to the dealer but I cant get in for a few weeks, seeing as i've only owned the bike for a month and a half and im not really in the mood for waiting around.

Had the meter out and got this for readings
yellow heat wrap bundle
red - white 172 oh
red - black 173 oh
white - black 1.5 oh

black heat wrap bundle
red - white 185 oh
red - black 6000?!? oh
white - black 6140? oh

I couldnt seem to get a difference between open and closed throttle for some reason. I don't know. sure seems to me like its just my tgs.

Default ECM issue

Hey guys I have an 08 street glide throwing the same codes and part number 3293308. Took it in to a shop and they replaced the throttle sensor but tech said there was something wrong with the ECM and I needed to take it to a dealer. I am apprehensive about it because I don't believe that's what's wrong. Bike runs great. On issue as far as I can tell is the engine light and codes won't clear. I just wanna ride. Can anyone shed some light on this issue???
