I got a $100 gift card for christmas and was saving it to put in on my 20,000 service ,and just heard that the dealership just went under .I just had some warrenty work done last week I don't think anyone working there knew anything about it .I feel bad for all the people working there . I drove by today it was all locked up . woundering if there is any way to get my$100 out of them or an i SOL?

 

Was it a gift card off the HD website that was valid in any dealership or was it a gift certificate? If gift card, you can get it back. If gift certificate, you're SOL

 

It's a gift card It says Golden Gate Harley-Davidson buell.
It looks like a creditcard .I think my brother got it at this dealership.
It has a wedsite addy on the back www.riderrewardsclub.com
all it will let me do is put in the #'s and it will say my name and $100
But no e mail or a way to contact them?

If it says Golden Gate, then I believe you're SOL

 

You would be at the end of the list if the company filed bankruptcy.
If your brother got it at that dealership,chances its only good there unless they own another store.

 

Does the card say Visa or Mastercard any where on it? I've seen places do this, where the card is purchased from them, has their business logo etc on it, but it is actually a reloadable debit card. If this is the case, then it can be used anywhere.

 

I think you're SOL. I tried to buy a gift card a lady won for a dealership about 4 hours away from me. It was a $1000 gift card and she was going to sell it to me for $600. I checked with that dealer and their prices were a little higher than my dealer so by the time I drove the 4 hours and used it at the higher priced dealership i couldn't save anything so I backed out.



What I'm saying is, it was only good for that dealership.
