Default 2010 Touring bike question
How many people have had the lock on their gas cap lid go bad? Anybody put the push button on theirs?

I've only had my Ultra less than 2 weeks - I hope something like that doesn't break so soon.

09 classic Yep after one year, under warranty. Replaced with a push button.

had the push button put on at the dealer before I took delivery. Sure is nice not fishing the key out.

Of course there's a risk but to me it's worth it.

Lock went to junk on a road trip i was on, luckily the key stuck in it , in the open position and i was able to get fuel.....harley shop warantied a new one and all is well,, 2010 flhx

I love the push button, if someone wanted in your fuel door, any harley key will work it and a screw driver will pop it open....the button is handy....

I installed a smooth push button on mine on day one.

FYI: Any Harley barrel key will unlock the fuel door.

As you can imagine, I was pretty annoyed on the one hand but mighty relieved to get it open and back on the road on the other hand.

Quality of these new locks is highly questionable.

PS
You could not use a credit card as was helpfully suggested as an option, once you get it open, get the lock out of there!

Not so much will the key button break but it's just a heck of a lot more convient usingthe push button. Trust me, youll get one!!
