Default 2009 FLHT Stock Seat question

Hi guys. This is driving me nuts. I still have the stock seat on my 2009 FLHT and I want to replace it. How come this seat looks like the picture of the deep bucket Sundowner smooth seat in the 2009 & 2010 catalog, but the OEM part number for the stock seat and the part numbers for the 2009 & 2010 Sundowner don't match? They look the same, but none of the part numbers match. Are they the same? If not, what is the difference? I just ordered the 2010 Sundowner deep bucket smooth seat from the stealership, and I'm fearful that when it comes in and I open the box, it will look just like my stock seat. Please help! Thanks in advance.

Trust me, you don't have the sundowner seat. Go ahead and buy the sundowner seat for your model and you will be happy.

Thanks Dawg! I thought I was going crazy. I had done so much research on this forum. I had intended to buy the Hammock seat, but so many people were swearing by the Sundowner that I changed my direction.

Dawg was right. I got the new Sundowner and it was very different from the stock seat. I sit lower and closer to the tank. Being closer to the tank and handle bars helps my arms and shoulders. The seat cups your butt and doesn't allow the rider to move around. I used to think that the stock seat, by allowing me to shift around into different positions, was a good thing. It is not. The Sundowner supports the rider very well and holds you in one spot. The added bonus is that the wife loves the improved comfort of the Sundowner. It was noticable to her. I have nothing but positive comments for the Sundowner. It was a good choice.
