I'm 5'8" and am looking at these two bars. I love the way the 518's look but at my height I'm not sure they would be comfortable. I want to lean back when going down the highway. Just looking for opinions, which one would you go with and why.
I can't say what will work for you as we are all different, but i am an ape man for sure. let me know if you want discounted forum pricing on these bars as i can get them for you as well. Pm for pricing please.
For comfort, at least for me, at 6' tall, I love my 518's. I had apes in my softail and they lloked great and were fine for short rides. For long rides, as I said, I love my 518's. You mentioned lean back. If you have a drivers backrest, the 518's go hand in hand with the backrest and highway footrests.

Your ride looks great! I do love the look of the king with 518's. If I was a little taller this would not even be a question, but at 5'8" I may be reaching to much. Oh, I will have a rider backrest when all is said and done.
Have you considered the 508's. They have a little more pull back than the 518's
Yes, I've looked at them, but I don't think I can handle the wrist angle. I came from a sport bike, so I'm use to my hands being straight. The angle of the 508's just doesn't look natural at all.

I know what you mean, it took some gettin' used to the wrist angle.Your hand axis must not be perpendicular to the grips.

Reason: spelling
I am 6'2" with a 35"/36" sleeve and the WO518's are great for me. I went from the stock bars on an '08 FLHRC to the 518s and they moved my hands out and back a bit, allowing me to lean back a bit while riding (the stock bars kept me pretty much upright with my arms nearly straight).
One of my riding buddies is about your height and has the WildOne 508s. The 518s would be quite a reach for him.
I have the 518's on my ride, love the way they pull back but if you do not have a long 'reach' or longer arms they may feel as if you are stretched wide. Me, I have bursitis and arthritis in both shoulders, man did these help!!
