Question street glide Rear Tri-light to Ultra Limited help

I'm adding the SG rear fascia to my FLHTK I have the fascia an I ordered the 69375-10 tri light and it didn't come with any wiring. I'm unsure what I need? I think I need a 68828-10 (harness, rear lighting, jumper) shown on page 128-129 in the 2010 touring parts catalog. and not sure where it will plug into, will I need to make a "Y" connector?

I can't answer your question since I'm not familiar with doing this mod on '10 model year bikes. But I am familiar with this mod on earlier years and perhaps it will provide some useful information.

The '10 SG fascia LED is different from previous years because it connects to a module; in previous years the SG fascia LED connected to the tour pak harness that your bike uses for the tour pak lights.

In previous years, you could swap the connector from the fender tip light and install it on the fascia LED wiring and plug the connector in the upper left chamber of the circuit board behind the tail light lens previously used by the fender tip light. Pre-'10, the SG used that chamber for the license plate LED's in the turn signal light bar.

If you can use the LED from a '09 or older model year, you may be able to use the LED from the tri-bar fender extension kit, p/n 91067-07, that has a run/brake light feature. The benefit of this LED is that it has the connector to plug into the circuit board previously used by the fender tip light so you don't have to swap connectors as you would if you used the SG fascia LED. Guys who did the SG fascia/LED on Road Kings did this because the RK doesn't have the tour pak harness that fairing models have.

To determine if you can use an SG fascia LED from a pre-'10 SG, you will need to the parts book(s) for previous years for the LED and see if they are different for '09 models from previous year SG's, and compare the p/n's for the '10 and '09 fascias. Those comparisons should tell you whether the older LED will physically mount in the fascia.

Wish I could tell you how to install what you have. And if someone has already done the mod on a '10, they can chime in with a solution; hopefully one that is simpler than what I've described. In any event, this reply will provide your OP with a bump.

Good luck with your project.

Carl
