Wheel Installation Kit ?????
I have a 09 RG with the stock 28 spoke front wheel, I bought a new Chrome 28 spoke to put on. I also bought install kit 43851-08a. The kit comes with 2 different spacers that go in the wheel between the bearings. There is a .1 inch difference in the length, while ID and OD are the same. Which one is correct?
Thanks, Mike

This is a good question - i picked up a 2010 hd rg 18" front mag without bearings or spacer & bought a 1" front wheel install kit which came with multiple spacers & i have to figure out which one to use for my 06 sg? So not to steal this thread, but if someone has the answer for mikeboztk maybe they have an answer for me too? - thanks
What I would do is measure the distance on your original set up from the factory wheel " bearing to bearing in the hub" then take your new kit and use the spacer that gives you the same dimension. Also on the 08s one bearing is seated and the other "floats" make sure you get that on the correct side
I see in the service manual where you seat the primary disc side first then other side against the spacer.
Do you have to have HD bearing installer tools to install bearings? Does anyone drive them in instead of screwing them in like the install tool?
Thanks

I will find a pvc coupling or a piece of pvc pipe that is the same od as the bearing and use that to install the bearing. Its plastic so it won't hurt the hub or bearing but you want it to contact the outer most edge of the bearing. Use a block of wood on top of the coupling and use a small hammer and tap the bearing in. USE CAUTION THAT THE BEARING IS GOING IN EVEN! Tap around the outside edge take it slow and you'll be fine.
