Does he mean it shakes going down the road, Like a death wobble? Or does he see the engine and the bars shaking at idle and make a comment. My EG and my WG shake like crazy at idle compared to a Honda GW or most other metric bikes. I wouldn't be concerned at all until you compare it to another HD. So that is my serious answer.
He could be just jealous of the fact that your bike looks like it has a ton of horsepower waiting to be released at the green light, or maybe his OL made a comment that she prefers your vibration and the way you shake it Who knows?
He rides a fricking sewing machine! How the hell would he know what is "normal"? Tell him: "Sewing machines such as yours, they buzz. Real motorcyles like mine, they shake!"

My '07 RKC motor dances a jig at idle, likely 'cuz it's a pretty low idle. My Dyna idles a couple of hundred RPM higher, and it's pretty stable at idle. Both smooth out at speed; clear mirrors, no buzz, 600+ mile days no problem.
OK here is the truth. Went from a honda to my EG and I just can't get myself to go back to the honda. Love the vibration on the harley at idle love the stares people give[it's like man what a lucky guy] and i really love the way my EG cruises down the highway.
