o6 road glide tail lamp bulb
is there a trick to getting the tail lamp bulb out of the bulb socket? Mine is in extremely tight, or is HD's way of making me buy the bulb with the short harness? I looked in the SM, but can't find any info other than the HD part No for the bulb.

You have to push the lamp in before you turn it to disengage the little stobs. Have you tried that? That was the old style bulb. Now days, the incandescent tail lamp is a glass envelope containing two filaments with three contacts (run, brake, ground) that are wires loops coming out of the base of the glass envelope. The bulb should come out of the socket by simply pulling it away from the socket. All the bulbs, old and new, should have contact grease on them. If the contact grease has become hardened with age, you might have a problem.
