Cool Intercom Problems

Has anyone ever heard of this one? While using the intercom, when the wife speaks, I see the "int" light go on but I can't hear her talk (some people would think that this would be a good thing- LOL). It knocks the the radio down so I know that the carrier of the tansmisssion is working but no audio. I have switched helmets and the same thing happens, thus eliminating the mics, cables, plugs, etc from the problem. Does anyone have any ideas as to where to begin to look? One last thing, I have always been taught that the first place to start is where "whatever was worked on last". And, about six months ago I had my local stealer (dealer) replace the mode switch. I was wondering if that could possiblely contribute to the problem. I have an 08 ultra. I thank whomever can help!!!

First place to look is go to intercom and check your volume.
Don't ask me how I know....lol

agree with Dougger, the intercom and CB volumes are seperate from radio volume.

We had the same problem turned out the wife turned the volume down to the point where it goes to mute. She said she didn't know but I wonder?

Guys,
I am a new UC Limited owner, and have a quick question. When using CB radio and Intercom, is it true that the intercom conversation between my wife and I will be broadcast over the CB at the same time? I notice in my manual that it says "be sure to turn off CB when talking on intercom to protect your conversation".

Am I understanding this?

Thanks,
Matthew

That should only be the case if the CB is on and you are using the PTT button to communicate over the intercom. If you use the CB and the intercom at the same time, you need to use the VOX setting to automatically trigger the intercom, otherwise, you will broadcast your converstions over the CB.

Default Very well answered

that is exactly right 2wheel.....it took me several days of trying to figure this whole radio out and I did.....right now I am getting a detachable tour pack installed. the chief mechanic and the local dealer told me I may see some problems with my speakers. I am assuming he is saying that because of the "FADE" (Front and Back)(no back speakers while detached) on the speakers. he couldnt tell me exactly what the problem was. anyone seen that problem before?

Why does my Intercom and CB selection not show up on my 2017 Harley Tri Glide. I cannot turn on my intercom or CB because it is not there. I go to Home, Setup, Comm and the only thing listed is phone. Can someone tell me how to fix this.

Bob
