Hey guys went for i ride on the 03 ultra today went 15 miles stopped to wash the bike than. i went to another 40 miles and stopped for about 2 hours. I came back to the bike jump on and try to start it and i don't hear the efi go on press the start and nothing happens checked the kill switch that was on run shut it off and try again still doesn't work. the radio worked and the speedo turned on but none of the other gauges worked headlights didn't work either. took the stuff sides and bags off cheeked the fuses and the ignition headlights and instruments weren't working but not blown and i believe all the others were working i believe. had a buddy there he hotwired it to get it started and drove it home so the battery isn't dead. what do you think is wrong with it and where?

 

Faulty ignition switch maybe? You said you stopped to wash it. You might have gotten something wet but if it ran 40 miles after washing it doesn't seem likely but you never know.

I stopped to help a guy who was broke down and we got his bike running again by fiddling with the ignition switch.

 

so it was the ignition that was wrong got a new one and put it in and works like new again
