I just put it on before I mount the bike, over a tee shirt I'm wearing. That way I have a regular shirt during the stops.
When it's real hot I just switch shirts.

They are thin and light colored and I don't get burned that way.
The UV is just killer down here when it's over 90 degrees.
Rit (the clothes dye company) makes a product called Sun Guard. You soak cotton fabrics (shirts, pants, ec.) in this stuff and it provides 30SPF on those clothes up to 10 washes. I like the stuff.

+1 on that! Don't really know how others can say they don't ride on long trips when the temp is above (fill in the blank) since when you're out on the road you have no idea what the temp may be in any given location. I ride no matter what, except for possibly torrential rain, which I've ridden in plenty of times, but it SUX.

I ride any time but we dont have much humidity here in West Texas so it is a bit better in the heat.

Me and my son did a 3 hour each way tip last weekend 97 and heat index of 112 I think. Drink lots of water and took it easy. He loved it excpt the quick thunderstorm that got us wet but to be honest it felt good. He was glad he had his light coat and full face.......me on the other hand had a Vest and T-shirt with a 1/2 helmet. Sure glad I got the Windshild

Well, today I realized that 100 degree temps are just to darn hot here in the south and air conditioning ain't half bad. As long as this continues I have parked the bike except for evening rides. I was out last night about 10:00 and it was OK then, but daytime is just too much for me. I will leave that for the younger riders.....

I have a Tourmaster Intake jacket. It lets the air in real good and comes with two interchangable liners depending on the weather. On real hot days I soak my tshirt at rest stops and put the jacket over it. Instant air conditioning with the added benefit of not getting burned. +1000 on good suncreen. I use it every time I stop.

I might be weird but I like it hot - unless its stop and go traffic I don't fell hot with a 60 mile an hour wind blowing. I should say that I have not ridden in 100+ temps so that is a level of heat I am not familiar with. I would much rather ride in 90 degree heat then 65 degree cold.

As most of the advice here, drink lots and lots of water. The sunscreen is a must. When I came across this post it brought me right back to last years ride to Sturgis. The temps were without a doubt pushing 105-110 with 30mph crosswinds. The best way to compare it is to open up your oven door, I am not joking it was brutal.

I ride in 100+ temps all summer long around here. But it's a dry heat. I try to keep my jacket on as long as I can and soak my t-shirt under it. That works for the first hour or so. I also drink plenty of water. Make extra stops to keep hydrated. The heat doesn't bother me to much.
