Home Made lift table
I use my HF lift table all the time. It is 3 years old and still works great. I did build a better wheel vise for it. I have the foot pump version and it pumps my Ultra up without a problem.
I now exactly what ya mean...That floor can be mighty hard on your knees and back. Some years back I had a 9000lb two post lift put in because of the constant maint. on my 5 other vehicles. I took a 8' piece of 10" steel beam and made a table that attaches to the lift for my bikes. If your going to spend $1000 bucks on a Bike table, for another 1000. or so you could put in a lift and not have to kneel or lay on the floor again! I'm just sayin!
I have a harbor freight table lift and I love it. I'm sure the other lifts that are $1000 are nice but I'm cheap and I'm not a full blown Indy or dealer. I'm just a do it yourselfer and I could just spend the other $500 on some more mods on the scoot. So +1 to the harbor freight setup.
For less than $200 you can but this lift from Harbor Freight

Correct me if I'm wrong but I see no way of locking the height of that lift. I wouldn't trust my bike to a bleeder screw system to raise and lower my bike. At least the normal motorcycle floor jacks and the table lifts have a locking bar system that is a safety catch if the hydraulic fails.
Yea that, it has a solid 1" rod that goes through the lift support that will lock it up. I always use the rod and release the pressure on the jack once it is up.
I like the looks of that table, very good use of easy to get materials. Did you have plans, or make it up on your own?
I'm in the process of building one now that I can use my cordless impact to raise and lower it. It uses a series of pulley's and a gear box as the drive. Only problem is I'm currently on PLAN C OR D! Needless to say it has been a challenge but I think it' FINALLY coming together. Will post pictures of the final project when I get it all done.
Thankyou guys.... I have 2 3/4 truck frames laying around (with dana axles if anyone is interested dodge 8lug and intl 6 lug) from another project I just don't have time for... but I am now going to fab a lift table using the frames similar to how a lift table works. I had one and sold it (dough! stupid) and regret it now. It was just too long for what I was wanting. I like the design of the drop tail lift as its much shorter when the tail is taken off. hence less space on the floor when not in use. can put the tail on top. So my idear is to use the frame rails to create the supports and such. I also have some c channel I got with the dodge I can use. about 3 74 w200 widths worth. Just have to fab something up! I also have the bed which is solid. (I hated the thought of cutting it up for scrap) now I have a use for it. Sweet deal. Will keep all posted. I have to regasket the 318 I am pulling this weekend for the travelall. Keepin er 2wd. Just don't have the time to go 4wd with all the modifications necessary to adapt 8 lug danas to fit the intl travelall. So I will put its parts to a good use!
