Rain gear, sun screen spray for my bald head, night glasses, bug spray, hat, bandanna, small tool kit, some CDs, couple rags, light jacket, insurance/registration/etc in my 105th anniversary pouch, first aid kit, a bungee net for bringing home random purchases, and random crap my wife leaves in there.

+1 on everything mentioned but I always keep a reflective vest in my saddle bag.. in case I'm stuck on the side of the road or I need to direct traffic due to an accident..

Thanks folks.
I probably carry too much. I've got a set of tools and when I work on the bike (I don't work on it much as I'm mechanically challenged) I use that tool kit to make sure I've got what I need along with me. I've got a tire plugger, compact cig lighter compressor, rain suit, CDs, baseball cap, shock pump, a rag for oil/cleanup and a micro-fiber cloth for paint, chrome and windshield. I also carry sun screen during the summer months.

Personally, I like being prepared even if I never use the stuff: Rain gear, stock tool kit (need snapon one!), bag of goodies: (safety wire, zip ties, duct tape, string, misc nuts, bolts, o-rings), kickstand thingy for soft parking surfaces, tire plug kit, slime air compressor, reflective vest for riding on post and the shock air pump. If I were to go on a trip, I would want a better tool set and a quart of oil.

I've got a tubeless tire plug kit, small 12V compressor (Harbor Frieght $6.00) and the tool kit that came with my Ultra (Also the Harley hand pump to set my rear shock air pressure).
Other than that I carry my Jacket liner, Face mask, Chaps and gloves in the Tour pack.

Default what to pack

ALWAYS pack your leather jacket. You never know when you get in a bad situation weather wise or end up going way the heck farther than you planned. My brother and I just took a 80 mile trip. We left the house and it was 85 and humid. 2 hours later it was cloudy, windy and 55! He ponied up and bought jacket, cost him $165.00. Sucks to be him, I had my jacket in my saddle bag.

Looks like about everything has been mentioned that I carry except a spare spark plug too. I've never had one go bad on me, that's why I carry one

Plus, a flattened down partial roll of sh*t paper in a ziplock bag...
