I do have 26,000 miles on the bike. But I've blown two headlight bulbs (High Beam). I've never had one blow on any of my other bikes and the mileage on them exceeds what I have now. Anyone have an idea as to way I'm blowing bulbs. Each time it's been the high beam. Anyone want to recommend a different bulb.

I have 2 Road Kings and they go thru a headlight bulb about every 10,000 miles.. checked ground wires and the works..Have now gone with Sylvania Silver star model 9003/HB2 ST/2...ADVERTISED AS THE WHITER AND BRIGHTER LIGHT... We will see how they last..
Check your voltage when you rev it up, shouldn't be over 15 volts, when in doubt, run another ground, also I have a Royal Enfield that vibrates to beat the band and that beat the heck outta my bulbs.
Buy a better bulb, as the cheaper ones made in China are, well.......

2009 street glide with two blown high beams in 22K miles. Dealer checked the regulator, said the voltage was okay, and not to ride with high beams (which I do during the day). BS, if the bulb cannot handle running on high beam, I'll find another bulb manufacturer.
Here's a link to some high quality H4 bulbs , the Narva Long Life # 48889 looks interesting. http://www.narva.candlepowerinc.com/
I personally use the Osram plus 50 70/65 bulb , I don't know how long it will last , but I will use it in the future also , here's a link. http://www.danielsternlighting.com/p.../products.html
There are differences in the construction of the bulbs , and most manufacturers try to go cheaper if they can , so quality is more important than price to me.
Just a couple options.

One thing that popped into my head...................
You can't touch the glass part of the bulb!
The oils in your hand create a HOT spot and that'll shorten the life of the bulb.
