Default Cracked

OK so I am the dumb *** of the day. I put a new windshield pack on my bike and tightened one of the end mount bolts just a tad too tight and now I have a tiny crack making it's way up and away from the mounting bolt.

Other than drilling a tiny hole at the end of the crack, is there anything one can do to stop this from getting bigger or repair it?

Doubtful you can do anything with it.

They make some epoxy type repair kits, but I think you will still need to drill the hole, or at least make a score to stop it from traveling any more.

I'm gonna be odd-man-out here, and suggest you thank your lucky stars for the heads-up. A poly 'shield shouldn't crack like that; would bet yours is acrylic...watch the video

Awesome video and believe it or not, mine is Lexan Polycarbonate. You can beat it and shoot it but you can't tighten a bolt too tight or it will crack..lol.

It would be nice to know what windshield you are talking about, Road King or Bat Wing?

Definitely stop drill it before it gets bigger, then just live with it.

More than likely it was not over tightened, but not seated properly. You have to make sure that the notch fits completely over the little nub on the inner fairing.
I can't tell you how I know this. I just do.
