Default Fuel Pak

Anybody running a Vance and Hines Fuel Pak? I still want to run a TTS Master Tune but a few things have me re thinking this decision.

1.) The Dealer that was to install it, (Good tuners here in Vermont are far and few between) lost the key guy. The person they are training to take his place has tuned only 3 so far and they have all been back numerous times with hard starting problems and a stumble. He's not experimenting on my bike. Yes, I have a little inside information.

2.) The dealer is insisting that I change out my air box completely, instead of just replacing my air filter with a free breathing K&N, which is what I want to do.

He is quoting a 1200.00 - 1300.00 price to purchase and change my air box, purchase and install the Master Tune and install my already purchased Pro Pipe. Penalty for my own pipe purchase included. Also if I install the pipe myself, they said they cannot honor my bikes warranty. They got me on that one even though I know its a crock!

3.) That is a lot of coin to accomplish the few things that I want to accomplish. Get rid of the lean stumble, cool her down, get rid of the cat and change out the whole pipe, and install just a free breathing filter element only. I'm happy with the performance over all as she is. Thoughts? Anybody with Fuel Pak that have opinions good, bad, indifferent?

Got 20k on my Fuel Pak with just pipes and a K&N filter. No problems. Started out with just Basic slip-ons on stock head pipes. Then changed to tru duals Then got a stage 1 download (for free). Then added Klock Werks Puffer mufflers. Each time their recommended map was good. Had a slight issue with decel pop with the Puffers. Sent them an e-mail about it and they recommended changing one setting. Took care of the problem. Keep your stock parts and change it back for any warranty issues.

Personally I would find a new dealer. I've got 20K on my Fuel Pak also, no problems. As far as you installing the pipe yourself and voiding the warranty, get that in writing, then turn his *** in. In order to void your warranty they have to prove the modification caused the failure. How many aftermarket pipes and air cleaners have you heard about voiding someone's warranty? Or even a tuner? Yeah, you haven't. As long as you guys let these dealers spout this crap and walk on you they will, now do a little research and go back and tell him the way it will be, not the other way around.

I have 26,000km on my Fatboy with the Vance and Hines Big Radius 2 into 1 and the Screaming Eagle Intake and filter, with a Fuelpak. Runs good and the plugs look like it's burning nice and clean.

I just wanted to run a stock filter so I took a holesaw and cut out the breather backplate to let more air in and worked great. Didn't cost me no $130. I did opt for the Xied's to richen the mixture at $100. Have to spend alot more if I ever go Big on the jugs but works fine for me with stock motor and D&D mufflers.
