Welcome to the Street Glide family. I think it's the best-looking bike and possibly the best bike period that H-D makes. I find it interesting that you traded an '06 Ultra for your SG. I, too, prefer the stance and seating position of the SG to the EGC and Ultra. The center of gravity is lower and that makes it a lot more manoeuvrable, especially in town.
I have mine real close to an ULTRA, Just thought the tourbox was a waste...
I have seen some real nice aftermarket trunks, with spolier and led lights.
I want to set it up as a detatachable unit..
So i don't have to lug an extra 80lbs around.
Besides the ultra I had bought, was a RENTAL, had 14000 miles on it 17000 when I traded,
And the SG is BRAND NEW...
This is the last trade for a long time...
Just added smoked wind deflectors, a TALLER windshield, and chrome radio bezel...
Thanks for posting this thread, I too traded for a Street Glide my FIRST new bike. Although i've had 3 prior Harley's after 600 miles I love it. I really apprciate your part on the screaming eagle pipes, I have not yet did anything with them. I really want more than a stock sound but not able to belly up and do the full package of pipes tuner and so on.... Yes I need to update my pix since I no longer have the Fatboy..
Nice Ride. Wait till you see how the women flock around a Vivid Black SG. I just have to figure out how stop them from running away when I walk up and get on it.
OK I'll try to exlain it the way I see it, The Ultra is a GREAT machine.. But I did'nt have a use for the intercom or the CB.. ( Breaker 19 days are long since past)
The only differences are 2 speakers, Tour box, (I will add one)
As I said before I just like the way a street glide sits.. Seems to me the front end is higher and the rear is lower.
I wanted to do this with my ultra and the stealer said it would screw up the ride of the ultra..
With the lowers, air deflectors, taller shield, she feels like an ultra except, a better seat (not a couch).
I sit back farther and it is more comfortable,..
The Street Glide is The Best Selling Motorcycle here in the Houston Area.
Well, when I'm through it'll be a Street Ultra Glide.
OH and the 96 inch Engine and the 6 Speed Is Bad A$$...
Got 103 Miles on it now...
Can't use 6th in Break In Period.
But 5 Is a higher gear than the 06 model..
55 mph in 4th is running around 2300 RPMS,
I was real use to the 5 speed trand, you have to re-learn the bike agian..
I do hear noise in 5 at like 45-50, but iI think it it because it's a strait mesh gear set...
