Hey all just bought a 2000 Road King and I am not familiar with the fuel injection system. I want to add a new set of slipons, what will I need for jetting?? Does this bike use a regular mapping module like a power commander 3 or 5? Thanks
bike runs lean from factory,,bigger flow slip-ons make it run leaner,,consider a fuel management device.
power commander or one of the many others.
consider review of J and P cycle online catalog for fitment and price ideas and then shop for prices.
If you change slip-ons may wish to consider a K and N filter or other item to increase air in also...slip-ons+air cleaner + fuel
If it's still stock, you can take it to the dealer and get a Stage 1 (slip ons, K&N filter w/ backing plate), and they'll map your existing ECM, no need for a power commander.
I'm pretty sure this goes back to the 2000 models, I'd call and check, because that's an early EFI. I know they could do it with 01 and '02's. Somebody else on here might know. Just trying to save a few hundred on the power commander. However, you switch anything else, and you will need a PC or Fuelpak or similar.

I have a PC III on my bike that works great. Got it and a canned map from Fuel Moto. Previously I had the Stage 1 download from Harley and my bike always ran lean. So after discoloring my nice slip ons and putting up with a decel pop for a long time I went with the PC. Now my new slip ons have no discoloring after thousands of miles, no decel pop to speak of either.
If I was you I would upgrade to a Screamin Eagle air cleaner also. Then get your pipes that you want and call Fuel Moto. They will probably be able to set you up with one of their proven maps for your setup and will load it into the PC III before they ship it to you. Don't think you can get the PC 5 for the Magneti Marelli fuel injection that you have.

Fuel Moto PC III is the way I went for my 2003 RK Stage 2 V & H True Duals w/ oval slip-ons. Terrific perfomance and sound. Jamie at Fuel Moto was very helpful. Considering the engine/ECM/pipe mods collectively is a requirement. Good luck-

Thanks for all the post.
Thanks for taking the time to write back. You answered my question. I was just wondering if you could hook up a PC3. I noticed that some of the sites only go back to 2001. ie Fuel pak and such. I am glad that the PC3 can hook up. I do have a PC5 on my quad with a HMF slip on. It ran like **** till I took it in and had it remapped. The factory setting was just a little off. It screams now.
Just another question for you. Any problems with the fuel injection system?? I really was surprised when I bought the bike that it was fuel injected. I really do not know much about the older Road Kings.
