Default Question about vibration

My wife says the back rest vibrates to much. She doesn't care for it. I just got the ultra and took her for the first ride. Is there something I can use to dampen the vibration?

What year ultra do you have and is the vibration at idle or while cruising?

Twildman;

I feel your pain. My wife says the same thing and has for the past 10 yrs. We hardly ever ride together anymore. Some people are more sensitive to the vibration, it's not about 'sucking it up', or getting a new wife. My last bike used to put the roof of my wife's mouth asleep.

What I've found out is that you can make it marginally better, but it will cost you. You can start to play with motor mounts. You can look at balancing/truing the crank. Look at how the backrest is mounted... etc

Chances are that you'll not likely fix it. You can put lots of weight in the tour box, this will help dampen the vibes somewhat. Also, the harder she leans against the back rest, the smoother it will feel.

Good luck......

Nothing 6" of good duct tape won't fix.

Yes, it is making her back itch.

Not an option to trade this model, I already have to much invested in her, and the kids are kind of attached.

I will look into putting some bushings under the mounts.

Thanks!
