Happy to hear you got a good seat pucker out of it ! I didn't know I 40 was a race track ? Why don't you try a real race track some time, every body can see how good you are and you'll only take yourself out when something lets loose. Take your ride a little cooler and you might live to ride longer.
Ya know, I have to admit ...... this is truly much better advise than I provided.
A tad harsh (maybe) ..... but still better advise to be sure.
This explains why we are averaging 1 motorcycle accident a week in NC. To many people who don't know how to ride on the interstate. I am begining to think that a graded license in this state would save a lot of lives. Then need to make the MSF course mandatory! Or give beginners a bright orange license plate so we call all get out of the way!
Thanks for the help guys, You ever get to NC, check out some of the best bike riding blacktop around, from the mountains to the outerbanks carolina is the place to be.
You need to get some cones, go to an empty school parking lot and set them up 15 feet a part in a strait line to practice riding through them. Get use to the feel of pushing right to turn right, pushing left to turn left. As you get use to the speed of the 15 feet distance, spread the cones out to 20 ft. You are already doing it naturally, you just don't realize it. Where it is important to know what you're doing is when you hit a turn faster than you expected. That is when you have to tell yourself to push more into the turn to make the bike turn more. You can cut some tennis ***** in half to use as cones. The will fit in your saddle bags bettter.
Last weekend im out for a day of hard riding up the I 40 through Black Mountain into Ashville. As i begin to climb running about 75 to 80 MPH the front wheel does not want to grip and leaning doesnot correct the striaght line the bike is taken, finally i had to roll out of the gas and front brake just alittle to regan control. If it was a race car i'd crank two rounds of wedge into the rear and be on my way. Anybody else have this happen? And or know a good fix. I got a real seat pucker outa this one.
Sometimes you have to press on the bar a bit. You knew that didn't ya? The bike may be out of alignment or your tires could be soft, too. Check it out.
