Default Check your batteries!

Make certain that you guys with alarms check the batteries in your FOB's regularly, I found out the other morning that my bike wouldn't start, glad it hadn't been a week earlier when I was out in nowhere's ville Idaho.

GREAT Point...only thing I could add (I do this with my gun safe as well) is that it'd be a good idea to stash a spare battery in a tour pack/saddle bag.

I change mine on or around my birthday every year whether it really needs it or not.

Former firefighter so I always change all battery operated devices (i.e. FOB, garage keypads, smoke detectors, etc. ) in Oct. Just makes it an easy reminder.

theres a wallet card in the back of your owners manuel that has instructions and a place to write down your code for manuel override, never leave home without it.

YES, carry a spare or two in the tourpak for such
a surprise, BUT, also re-program the code to a
series that you can remember as a $2 battery and
not being able to start OR de-activate the security
system would be a kick yourself in the behind moment
for sure!!!

So you got about 3 years out of yours? The override is a pain to do.
