While talking to a TTS installation tech, he said the stock cams in my '09 Ultra Classic 96 cube engine power band is over 4,000 RPM's. Is that true? Other than H-D trying to sell cam kits, is there a logical reason for that? I don't think my engine has ever been to 4,000 RPM's.
I believe so, you should e able to run it up to 6200rpm, they do that when they install air cleaner and pipes. otherwise the rev limiter is set at 4000. Different cams will give you more duration and or lift for more fuel.

I don't think the power band is set for over 4K. I think they are just mild cams made for engine longevity and not performance.
Also the rev Limiter isn't set to 4K. I forget what exactly but its more like 5 something. EDIT: posted above 5800.
I think he meant to say the power is over at 4000 rpm's
Like mentioned already, the rev limiter is set to 5800 stock. I'd bet the torque curve is taking a heavy dip after 4000 rpm's. May as well shift becausing revving it past that is useless noise.
