I have a 06 Street Glide with a stock radio running a Biketronics BT-444 amp and Polk Audio 6 1/2" speakers. My probelm is I can't get over 5 or 6 bars on the volume before the amp shuts its self off and I have to turn the ignition off and back on again to reset the amp. Can anybody tell me what is causing this?

Contact BT; they have superb customer service and the amp has a lifetime warranty.
If the amp isn't defective, it's shutting down due to excess heat; that might be caused by mismanaged impedance between amp and speakers, wiring issue, or perhaps a problem with the radio itself.
BT will have the solution.
