Calling you Hawg-Wired stereo gurus
My bike is a 2007 Ultra with Hogtunes speakers. I also have the fairing lowers speaker kit with the amp, but it only uses the signal from the front speakers. Only the fairing lower speakers are powered by the amp, so it's safe.
I have the T-Bag fairing pouches, which negates the use of the Hogtunes tweeter pod. so, I installed the gauge replacement tweeters from Hawg-Wired. They are awesome - the fit is perfect.
Anyways, it's the same application for all years up to 2010. However, the tweets are 4 ohms. My speakers are 2 ohms. The tweets wire in parallel with the front speakers.
If memory serves me correctly, adding resistance in parallel circuits involves adding the reciprocals. One over the total resistance equals the sum of one over the other resistances. So, a 4 ohm and a 2 ohm speaker adds up to 1 1/3 ohms. Hogtunes uses a 6 ohm speaker for their tweeter pod, which adds to 1 1/2 ohms, when parallelled with a front speaker.
Anyone know if 1 1/3 ohms will cook my Harmon-Kardon (factory HD) deck? I mean, the speakers are listed for my application.
Just looking for some advice.

Either way you normally won't cook anything without abuse. You'll know if something is out of whack as normally the stereo will cut out fairly quickly from the overheating when played loud. If it doesn't cut out, you should be good.
