Default Road Glide Headlights

Hey folks - I want the headlights of my '08 Road Glide to look like the headlights on the new '10 model. This would involve removing the big plastic bubble that currently covers the headlights. I know there is a kit out there, but my local dealer is unable to help me. The dealer's associate manager has the kit installed on his '03 Road Glide, but no one can remember how they got the parts. Can anyone out there point me in the right direction?

There should be two numbers in the parts catalog, one for the flat black trim ring (10$) and one for the glossy one (40$). It shouldn't be that hard for them to find. You could also do a search of the forum, those part numbers have come up a couple of times, lots of guys with older RG's have made the swap.

The one used on the 2010 models is 73250-10. You just have to remove the bubble & replace it with the new trim piece.

Then, after you make the conversion, set money back into the bank to replace the the glass lens if they get stone cracks. That plastic bubble serves a purpose ! Just my .02

Just like they said. No kit, no screws, just 1 plastic piece that snaps in where the bubble was. As far as the dealer not being able to help you, I would start looking for another a new dealer. This is elementary and common knowledge and should have been an easy find in the catalogs. The cheaper black one can be painted with gloss black from a spray can for a lot less than dishing out the 40 bucks. Good luck.

i have read that there could be a problem by taking the bubble off, but i haven't read of anyone actually cracking a lens. i have over 30k with the bubble off and no issues. it does look much better, imho, and therefore if you like the look, i would go for it, and deal with the new headlamp if it occurs. just my .02
