Default Help me decide

I have a 01 EGC with 45,000 miles that is absolutely perfect. I bought it from the orginal owner at 15,000 miles. I have the bike set up exactly like I want it and have meticulously serviced it. Cam tensioners changed, no leaks, it needs nothing. Now I have the opportunity to buy a 01 Ultra. It has so much stuff on it, I'd probably take some off. Every piece of of add on stuff is HD except the cup holder. It has the Air Zepplin seat. I won't bore you will all the stuff. It has 3,500 miles. Been ridden little in 9 years. I can buy it for 12k. The tires are dry rotted and the exhaust pipe is completely blue which I assume means she's running too hot. I keep telling myself it only has 3,500 miles compared to my 45,000, but then I start thinking what's going to happen when I take this bike and put it on the road after sitting up for so long? Now, I don't have 12k laying around either, so I'd have to borrow the money til I can sell my current bike. What would you do?

After reading your story I'd keep the current bike. I think you could find a better bike for 12k and sounds like your not too interested in the addition accessories.

I say keep your current bike. I wouldn't pay $12k for a 10 year old ultra, but that's me. You know what you have now.

Keep yours.sounds to me that you know and maintain you bike and if you keep up the maintenance on it you should get another 45k out of it.....After all that is why we all ride Harley's right....because of there durability and longevity!!! :-) ....... o~`o........
Plus might be a tough sell on a 45k machine with all the low milage garage queens out there for sale!!

I have an 01 EGC and wouldn't give her up for the world, one thing to remember bikes hold up better when they are rode then when they sit up, I suspect a lot of little things will go wrong once on the road with a bike that hasn't been ridden in awhile

Keep the EGC and use the 3K difference to upgrade what you have to what you want it to be.... Then you'll still know what you have...

12K sounds like a tad too much for a 10 year old bike.JMO
