$12K is way too much for a 10 year old Harley. Some people think because their bike has low miles it it is worth 50% more than its real value. Sometimes low miles can be hard on a bike especially one one that old. Plus 10 year old Harley's are a dime a dozen. Keep what you got.

Thanks again, guys. Ya'll confirmed what I was really thinking. That low mileage was kinda clouding up my judgement.

I bought my 01 Ultra in 07 with 4900 miles from an Army Ranger stationed at Fort Campbell Ky. It had been ridden very little since The war in the middle east started. The only problem i had with mine was an exhaust lifter collasped at 13000 while riding in 18 degree weather. When it went down i had new tensioners then eventually a gear drive cam and better oil pump. I love this old bike and wouldn't take a house full of money for it. Let me know where this 3500 mile Ultra is as i have a brother who'd give 12k for it then make a little off the re-sale.

The bike belongs to my nephew. He said he would sell it to me for 12k, but if I didn't want it, he would probably put it on Craigslist and ask more. I'll shoot you a PM if something changes. Bike is in Memphis area.

it looks like you've already got a great bike and you're not in debt for 12 grand. this is a no brainer. keep what you have and ride the hell out of it. i have an 08 streetglide and i'm very happy with it. there is nothing that harley can come out with that will cause me to want to go into debt for. enjoy what you have, and that's a bit of wisdom an old guy a long time ago taught me. now i'm an old guy and can understand what he was saying.

lazybee; looks like you got the answer & were probably thinking in the same direction. 45K on your 01's low mileage & you know how well you've taken care of it. Even though 3500 miles seems low for another 01 - it could be "hard" miles...good choice to pass.
