Default Sissy bar Docking kit

I know this seems bad but, The instructions for the docking kit $uck$. I'm going to figure this out sooner or later. Hopefully sooner. Does anyone have any pictures of this quick release mounting kit on an 06 Street Glide? if so please post them or contact me. Momma won't ride until the back rest is installed. I should count my blessings and just take it back, but be the nice guy that I am, I would like to get her out more.

I took a bunch of pics , both sides from my 02 Road King. I think it would be close to the same thing.

no camera at home but it was a bitch and i chunked the instructions...they give you parts for other bikes in the kit...that confused me...and do not take all the bolts out, it'll get out of line and is tough to make bolts start...i'll get some pics tomorrow if no-one else has ...in the front its just the fat black catch washer with a lip and a screw...i put them in first only finger tight...after figurin out which parts i needed for the back i loosened only enough to get it on...did it wrong...had to look at the spacing from the rear of the bike and both front and back have to line up...forgot exactly how the rear bracket and rear catch spaced, wasnt hard just took some figurin...and the instructions suck

I have an 06 SG and had the same problem. I finally gave up because I was doing more destruction than anything. I went to the dealer and they installed it correctly

The instrustions blow took me a while on my 07 sg same setup , a few of the bolts a hard to get started I will tell you take 1 out then replace. If I recall the pic. on instructions was for different setup ,would take a pic for you but dont know how to get them up on here.Took me a few hours but got it hate giving the dealer any extra money.

I just did this last week and the instructions blow chunks. I started out following them and they are hosed up...It's a conspiracy to get you take it to the dealer I tell you...and I don't believe their technical writers are from the USA...the installation is really simple if I had just had a few pics and knew to do one bolt at a time.

I tried the left side first and learned the hard way that you don't take all the bolts out at the same time like the directions tell you. It makes it impossible to start the replacement bolts. Do them 1 at a time. I ended up cross threading a bolt that goes into the rear grab bar/fender brace. You need to take the fenderbrace covers off, but you do not need to remove the rear fender brace/grab bar (It looked like you did from the instructions!). First do the top left bolt with the washer/spacer and bracket swung around so you can get it started, then remove the other 2 bolts... line up the rear bracket and install the other 2 bolts, washers and spacers. Also, the spacer (the big ones) it shows for the rear bag bracket is not right in the picture as far as I could tell. I ended up putting the spacer between the bracket and the the bolt head so my bags would line up ok. Another note, it states in the instructions that there is a left and right side bracket and that the letters must face out... not on mine, the stamped letters faced in. Go figure. Once you get everything in finger tight you can tighten it all down ok. I put the sissy bar on to verify alignment, took it off and then tightened it down. I also used blue loctite on the forward docking points. Make sure it has no movement, take it for a test ride... then put the honey on it. My wife is not real fond of the RK backrest because it forces her more fwd in her seat. I don't think the thing is adjustable in anyway...

Another note. If you get into an alignment issue trying to get your bolts started... use an extra person to muscle the fender braces around to help you get them started and whatever you do don't try to force them. Good luck.

I just looked at the picture of the brackets installed and took it from there. I think the rear bolt took 2 spacers to match the front, like Bryan said--finger tight first and do one side at a time. Took me about 30 minutes once I figured out the pics.
