you can run a gauge or not it is up to you, we can mount one in your fairing where the air temp gauge is that is where i put one on a bike i installed, and as for travel 4",
all the way up is stock which is one inch higher than street glide stock. the switch is mounted under the seat facing forward and works when bike is on or off.

yes, to full instructions, no no no no splicing hooks directly to battery with inline fuse, and yes to side cover no external parts other than switch.
