Cool Touching up paint

Got a question guys. I've got a ding on the fender, and one on the fairing from a rough ride me and some friends took last week. I would like to touch them up. I have the vivid black touch up paint and a bottle of clear coat. What's the best way to do the process? Thanks in advance for any help. Ride safe.

I have the same problem. Ordered touch up paint from my dealer, so will be interested in any replies you get.

I have used my touch up paint and it does suggest clear coat but unless you get somebody to do it right good luck ever getting it looking close to perfect. Probably have to apply paint. use very fine grit paper and repeat until as good as it will get, then clear coat. Oh well, dropping my bike off to be repainted Monday unless I decide to take it tomorrow.

As an option, you might want to look in your local phone book for a place that does just scratches and dings.

Although there are a number of different products that claim to do a great job by a novice, I think they are less than acceptable for an area that is obvious.

I've had good luck using this type of service for BCCC systems before at under $100 for a few areas.
IMO: They get the clear coat feathering right because they know how to use a buffer better than the average bear.

Use a paper match for a brush. Find a book of matches peel one off and use the torn end for a brush. You will be able to control the amount of paint you apply better than with the brush. Use tiny amounts of paint and apply a tiny bit at a time till you fill the hole. Be careful not to over fill the chip hole and create a mound. If done with Patience you can buff and never tell where the chip was.
Take your time don't get in a hurry.

I had two ding in my front fender one was a small dent. Took it to a local bike painter he took the fender off spotted color, spotted candy color and clearcoated the entire fender to as good as brand new. $200 well spent.

I have a nice scratch from a rock in my front fender I need to fix. You use this after the HD touch up paint or do you use their paint?

Use the HD paint. Be sure to follow the directions for allowing the paint to dry the correct amount of time before using the langka.
