The Screaming Eagle Compensator is the engines front chain sprocket and electrical stator mount. It is designed to mitigate some of the vibration and engine pulses which are fed into the drivetrain by means of a pre-loaded cam and ramp system. Essentially, the SE version can handle up to 8 times the load of the stock version and hopefully, in my case, reduce some of the clatter coming out of the primary case. The item lists at $250.00 and I don't know what labor would cost as I do my own wrenching.
first wow no more bang with starting...not once in a month sence install. in a lugging situation it handles it better
feel the power smoothly and more effeciently translate to the rear tire,,less downshifting too
still some "normal comp noise but more of like the sound of an old rollercoaster(wooden ones) but maybe less alltogether.
less vibs as well but hard to quantify at this point.
sort of like the ids, sort of like a stabilizer....
btw...here i am with a breaker barr ready to take origanal comp off and there couldnt been more then 40 pounds of torque WTF! on the origanal comp bolt. so i just gave the new one about 100 lbs of grunt,,backed it up and gave it about 140 ft/lb worth of grunt and called it a day lol
I put IDS first but didn't feel any difference until upgrading to SE compensator which was warrantied out thanks to my mechanic just have to pay difference in price. However it's different from bike to bike some what modified more then Stage I you will have some starting and other drive train issues, which will be reduced and better starting no hiccups backfiring or chattering . Mine stock was worn out bad because all the mod to the motor and finally it cracked in half luckily no other damage. It should been stock on all 96" motors but you know how Harley does things. If you have a warranty or ESP make some noises at the dealer ship and use some swear language it will save you some money to upgrade.
