2010 FLHR Road King
Just got back from the local dealer, I pulled in parked the bike and had my ba**S broke so bad all the guys sitting aound drinking coffee before taking their ride wanted to know if I was driving a Honda with Harley emblems they said the exhaust sounded terrible. I agree but didnt think it was that bad WTF...........
Now Im looking for the loudest slip ons I can find.

Slip Ons......
I've had the same problem with my 2010 Road King, went to the trouble of getting the new Rienhart 4" slip ons and installed them. They look killer on the bike, but the exhaust still sounded like someone had shoved a rag in the pipes. When I got to asking around, found out that Harley has put a catalitic converter in the pipes themselves. The techies at Rienhart said that they cut one in half to get a better look at it and it is so dense you can not see through it. If you look at your stock pipes, it is where they come together, right after the O2 sensors. If your really wanting to get good sound, you will want to look at a full system and not just the slip ons, otherwise you'll probably be dissapointed as I was. Luckily, Rienhart took back the slip ons for me and are sending out thier True Dual system with the 4" mufflers.

If you want good deep thunder like a Harley is suppose to sound. Call Jamie at Fuelmoto. His Jackpot slipons are great in every way. My Jackpots were getting too loud for me on my 08 UC, but when I traded for my 2010 RK, I took the jackpots off and put the stock mufflers back on the 08. With the cat in the head pipe, they are perfect! I was about to contact Jamie and buy a set of quiet baffles, but no need now. JMO

Might explain why when I've seen a HD go by me I have had to look and make sure it is a Harley....
I'm sure my '11 RK is going to sound the same. Not a deal breaker in my book that can be easily fixed if you want to.
