I test rode one also, but do not know if I can get used to the sharknose. It feels like it sits way out in front of me. It was a totally different experiance.
I don't remember the hands specifically but I was expecting alot less wind sitting behind that shark nose fairing. I guess maybe the big difference is found in dealing with cross wind.
I visited our local HD dealer last Friday and watch as they got a new FLTRU unpacked and moved it out in the sunlight...It was the Merlot Sunglo and it does that color pop. My 07 RK Classic and I have been having some wire wheels issues (my 300#, the 96 and my love of slinging it into curves caused that). I heard about the new frame being solid and the new 180 tire being nice and sticky. When I came to the dealership on Saturday, they had it as the lead bike at the door. Our dealership was generous in a trade for my 07, plus we get a HOG price if your active in our HOG chapter. Our dealer is very good to the local HOG chapter. Cutting to the chase, Saturday afternoon I am riding my 2011 shark nose to Yankees for my usual ice tea. Now all I have to pay the harley tax and lose the cat.
Took a new RG Ultra out for a test ride today. Loved the ride compared to my 2007. The suspension is much tighter and the 103 pulls much harder than my 96 (stage 1).
The color of the new bike was AWESOME. It's root beer brown metal flake. The flake is really big and just pops in the sun.
They offered me 13K for my 07 with 33K miles. I'm really tempted to strip off all the extras on my bike and make the trade.
I'll post picks if I make the deal later this week.
Steve
That sounds like a decent trade in, someone else just posted yesterday that his dealer only offered him $11k on his '08 RG with only 6k miles. I'd say go for it.
I'm going to have to live vicariously thru all you new RG Ultra buyers until they come out with some more colors or I can talk the SO into letting me trade.
