Default IDS Rubbers

How often are you having to replace the IDS rubbers? Since they came out with a service bulletin stating to replace when there is 3/8" play I have now replaced two sets both being less than 20K miles on each. I replaced the bearing after the second set also.

On my 08, I replaced them my last tire change (@ 11,000). Planing to have them changed out the next tire change. Cheap insurance.

At 12000 miles on mine, no free play and they look like new. I did replace the bearing though... just in case.

I am only going to change the isolators when there is to much play but I am going to change the bearing every second tire change from now on

IDS is the isolated drive system. It is big pieces of rubber in the rear wheel pulley to help cushion driveline lash. You have it on your 09. I think it became standard in 08 or 07, not sure which one.

I have 40K on my 2007 UC. IDS installed at dealership at delivery. Had no clue the bearing and isolators were to be routinely changed. Could one of you guys provide me eith the P/N for the bearing as well as the rubber isolators? Thanks.

It became standard in 08. Does anyone know if you can use the IDS on aftermarket pulleys? I want to change mine to match my rims when I go 2:1 exhaust, but not if I can't still use the IDS.

I would have to believe it partially depends on how much you beat your bike.
