Default wiring hellp

I am installing an ultracool oil cooler and I already have an oil temp gauge which has the sending unit in the oil pan. I was going to wire the fan up to my acc switch so i could turn the oil cooler fan on and off as the need arises. From my searches and looking at the manual one side of the acc switch should be hot. Mine is not. What am I missing?

I had to find mine under the fairing on my '08. It was in a cluster of wires on the left side of the radio (if looking from the front). The wires were orange and probably one or both had stripes. I found them with a test light.

On a switch, you don't have a "Hot" side, persay, but if you wire it backwards, it'll be on when it's supposed to be off is all.

I don't have any juice at all going to the switch, so at this point wiring my fan up to it would have no affect at all.

You have an acc connector under your seat. It looks like the data link but it's black

That connector is under the fuse box but I couldn't get power there either. If you switch the bike on and flip the switch, it has power if the green light lights up. If it doesn't, check your fuses. It has power from the factory.
