First timer on. My 1974 FXE just had some electrical work done and now the oil pressure light stays on, all the time. Shop owner said he traced the wires and replaced oil pressure switch can't find anything everything seems fine it is circulating oil and pumping back into oil tank. Any suggestions thanks.
Sounds like there's a short in your wiring somewhere. Get a multimeter test gauge or a test light and test continuity.
Disconnect the wire going to the pressure switch before testing the switch. If the switch is working correctly, the contact terminal on the switch will short to ground when the engine is off and break the circuit to ground when the engine is running. Oil pressure breaks the wiring connection to ground. If the switch checks out ok then you obvious have a short that is grounding the wiring to the switch and keeping the light on.
