Default Tourpack liner/locking system keeps falling

Just wondering if anyone else had problems with their tourpack lid liner falling because the summer heat loosens the velcro pads holding it up. I replaced them hit extra strength velcro and it still happens. Any recommendations?

Thanks

First off, Don't use pads of velcro, use strips at least 4 inches in length. Clean the suface with Alcohol and let dry completly (one hour at least). Instal the velcro strips attached to the liner and DO NOT put anything in it for a couple days while the sticky stuff sets.

If you have it clean, and let it dry and then give the adhesive a chance to set, it should work fine for you.

I did that and it still fell down. I fixed it by removing the bolts that hold my lugage rack, putting holes in the linner that linned up with the holes and bolting the linner up (used tape too) with the lugage rack mounting bolts.

Problem solved.

You might have tried 3M 1" dbl sided tape too. Use em to hold on my led pods over the motor and they haven't dropped. It's really not the heat as much as the weight of what is in the liner.

Default Liners keep falling

I have had the exact same problems. The hot weather seems to melt the "sticky" side of the velcro strips. I went and bought a tube of gunk (not an official name!!!!!) and put a dab at each corner. I then wedged some clothing etc inside the tour pack so that it would push the liner hard against the actual shell. Seems to have done the trick.

My recommendation in two words - Shoe Goop!

It would probably be best to remove the lid so you can lay it level while the Goop dries but clean it up real good before you start and let it set overnight. I bet you don't have any more issues after that.

Good luck & Ride Safe,
Steve R.

Thanks for the help guys. I will use all recommendations to get this crap (especially the central locking controller and all wires) to stay up there:

1. 3M tape
2. bolt it up via rack
3. Shoe glue
4. Goop

Just bought one of them last week. Was wondering how it was supposed to stay up there with a bunch of junk in the pockets!! I like the idea of using the 'rack bolts to attach it.
