Johan96,

Thanks fir sharing the link. I'll spend some time reading through it.

emwolb,

I've had my Biketronics installed for more than a year with no issues whatsoever. Only recently have I started experiencing these issues with the HK going to "mute" for no apparent reason. My plan this weekend is to remove the fairing cap and unwire the amp from the system, reconnect the spkrs, and run it like that for a day or two to see if I get the same results. I'll report my findings...

My radio is still doing the same thing. Sometime for no explicable reason the volume mutes. Power the radio off and turn it back on and it works well. Might stay on for 10 minutes or 2 hours. Weird. After reading multiple posts on this site of others having the exact same issue, I've decided to remove the radio and send it in to the guys at Iron Cross Audio for repair. I guess you have to upgrade everything on these bikes if you want the longevity. Supposedly the vibes affect all HK radios at some time or other. Iron Cross will beef up the chassis with some extra rubber grommets and resolder. Hope it works!

Idiot proof and the PROPER way to trouble shoot this. I work on a pretty hi tech aircraft. When there's a problem one of the first things they do is look at our shops log book. To see if anyone has repaired or messed with anything in that area. You should always go to what you did last, if it has any chance of being related. I run a chip in a Ford Powerstroke. And before I believe anything is wrong with the TRUCK itself, I remove the chip.

On the brake thing, how in the world did the Ky. dealer miss the leak? Is it in a spot where the leak doesn't get onto anything else so it's obvious no matter how small?
I wondered as I read your original post, dirty fluid won't cause the pedal to go to the floor... and NOT pump up even.. pretty much the only thing that will do that is no fluid in the master cylinder. Even if the leak was that small, (You apparently didn't notice any fluid, and you sound like you keep a pretty good eye on the scoot),,,, but still,, if the tech really believe that dirty fluid would cause THOSE symptoms, he should go back to school I think.
