Help, voltmeter is bouncing
Its telling u something! I doubt it'll heal itself unless its a short you disturb messing with the wires. Smell your primary fluid if it smells like burnt electronics there is your issue faling stator if it smells normal its eithe the regulator or the gage. But, You know that already, if you ignor say good bye to your battery. Service man. has something in it dosnt it? Sorry not much help here on "could be anythings wrong over the phone electronics diagnostics" Thank goodness its not triumph, at least you don't have to worry about letting the smoke out have fun & ridesafe
When mine went nuts it was the regulator. I had been caught in a major rain storm and water eventually got to the wrong place. The difference is mine spiked. It did not fluctuate low. Better the regulator than the stator. Good luck.

Mine did the same last week, had the battery tested(was ok). Put it in the shop, stator was gone, no voltage at all when tested. The stator isn't that expensive(149.00 Hd, some after market cheaper). Labor is the killer. HD wanted 4 hrs. Indy said he could do it in 2-3. So he got the job. If mechanical and have a manual, some on here say it ain't that hard to do yourself.
