Performance upgrades
What can I do to get some “bang” out of my stock 05 King? Don’t want to break the bank just do something like stage 1. Can anyone come up with ideas with out head work and such?

Biggest bang is indeed the Stage One! Slip ons (I like the SE Pro series), air filter, remap the EFI or rejet the carb...presto...smoother, more responsive, and much much less expensive...for the bucks, do it!

My dealer in Nashville runs a special each winter for the christmas season that does the Stage II upgrade with 203 cams for $995 installed. That includes labor and parts. Check with your dealer and see if they have that same special. They don't replace the cyliders, they bore them out, so that saves you tons of money and they use the same heads. I went with the Stage I upgrade with the Vance and Hines oval slip-ons and a power commander for now. I want to be able to tell the difference after I get the upgrade so I am waiting until the winter to get it.
