I have a '06 Ultra with SE air cleaner Vance & Hines Dresser Duals and Vance & Hines 4" twin slash round slip-ons With the dealer re-map or flash to the ECM. My question is: I've been looking into the V&H Fuelpak, if I do this do I have to have the ECM reset to stock settings before installing the Fuelpak or any other fuel management system? Or do I leave it alone?
I've been dealing with the decel pop too long now,and yes I've checked all seems and gaskets on the exhaust..
Thanks for the help...

I would skip the fuel pack, for a few dollars more, you can have a PC-V, you will have a better warranty and personalized help, whether it be a call or email. I am a fan of the PC-V because it is an add-on. If it ***** the bed, I can go back to stock in no time. Once you start screwing with the ECM, whether it be you (TTS Mastertune or dealer), IMHO you are asking for problems.
I would think you would only need the ECM reflashed if you went back to a stock air cleaner. I agree with Navy. A PC-V or cheaper yet the fuelmoto PC set up by fuelmoto is a good way to go.

I was under the impression that the PC-v was for 09 and newer bikes.I wasn't looking to do a lot with the ecm adjustments. I thought that if my exhaust was all V&H that the fuelpak would have the best program for my set-up (maybe not) and the fuelpak is considerably cheaper @ $219.00 shipped. Is there really that much difference between PC and V&H fuelpak, there has to be some fuelpak users out there.

The guys at Fuel moto have a retro fit for earlier bikes and works great. I have an 07 Ultra SE intake and slip ons, went with the PCV. We got several maps from Jamie and Kieth at Fuel Moto and changing them and installation was a breeze. Unplug the ECM, replace with the PCV, eliminate o2 sensors and you are riding.
I have an 06' EGS and had Vance and Hines slip on's and a K & N replacement filter, I went with the fuelpak and had some pretty bad decel popping, I replaced the fuelpak with a PC III and the decel popping has decreased significantly but is not gone. I have noticed that when I am downshifting if I am even slightly on the throttle it will pop but if I make sure I have the throttle is rolled all the way forward it won't happen, this sounds a little ridiculous but believe me, after I was informed of rolling all of the way off of the throttle I started paying attention a little more and found that it does make a difference or at least it did for me. Personally if I would ever listen to anyone without being so damn stubborn I would have skipped the Fuelpak and went straight to the PC III and been happy. I have a handful of friends that feel the same way about this and have been real happy with the PC III. Hope this helps.
i would skip all these fuel packs and after market fuel management systems and go with the sest. More money but better quality. With the SEST you will not have a module under your seat causing damage to your pin connections on your ECM. Do the others work? absolutely. Do they eventually cause damage to your ECM connections and potentially cost you money for repairs? Absolutely

Add some fuel to the lower rpm range and it should get rid of all of it. Call Fuelmoto, they will fix you up.

Guess I can't figure how your pins will be harmed due to the fact that the PCV plugs in the same way that your stock wiring harness plugs into the ECM. Maybe you know something that others don't but wouldn't a stock bike be having the so called Pin problems that you speak of with no modification at all?????
When you say decel pop do you mean that it back fires (popping) when you let of the throttle? I have a 08 Ultra with a Screaming Eagle 103 and it has always done that. I was just wondering if that was an issue with my system. Personally I kind of like that but your post has made me a little concerned.
