Fuel Management Question
Guess I can't figure how your pins will be harmed due to the fact that the PCV plugs in the same way that your stock wiring harness plugs into the ECM. Maybe you know something that others don't but wouldn't a stock bike be having the so called Pin problems that you speak of with no modification at all?????
Like I said these PC and fuel packs work great. But the problems lie with the way Harley has not left room for them. I imagine it was deliberate

On Harleys. The power commanders and the V&H fuel packs connect to the ECM under the seat. (Newer Models) There is not alot of room under the seat for this added component. Where this connection sits. It gets pressure from the rider and seat causing stress to the connections, which in turns causes flexing at the pin connections. We have seen several bikes come into are shop with DTCs, which are related to this problem. After time it wears out the pin connectors and it reacts as if the ecm is being unplugged.

From what I've seen (online installation videos) and have read, the PCV & fuelpak are behind the side cover on my year bike and you don't even remove the seat for install.. What is the cost for the SEST and does that just re-program the original ECM ? Which must also take dyno time I would think? I will consider all the above mentioned it's really all about money these days you know.My mechanic at the dealership says that the decel pop won't hurt anything anyway but I feel I could get a little more from my bike with the air and exhaust upgrades that I already have.

If you go with a PC III and have popping on decel do this. Add fuel in the zero throttle column in your map ( start at 10) at the rpm that the pop occurs and this should stop it. I agree that the PC III or PC V is the better way to go. Stay away from the fuelpak. Buy it from Fuelmoto and you'll have lifetime map support.

The SEST runs about $450.00 plus tax and installation, however the new SEST can be set up without Dyno time. However the Dyno is what gives you the best tune. Our Techs are creating maps for different mods so they can program the tuner using other maps based on and depending on what mods you have. To save Dyno time if the customer just wants a standard map.
Regarding where the unit may install. The ECM connection is still under the seat.
