I test my oil during each oil change. Yep, I kinda rub my fingers together while coated by the old oil. So far, I have always concluded that the stuff is still slippery, and smells like used oil. I'll be sure to let you know when I discover any new findings.
You make a good point. I have a bad feeling about Amsoil and don`t even know why.
Just gotta love signing on to HD forums and seeing an RV4! I built an RV8....first one to fly in New Mexico. Sold it three years ago. Yeah, I'm a dumbass. A 180 Skywagon now fills the hangar.
Speaking of oil, I have some extra Aeroshell 50wt laying around. I wonder how AD oils would work in a harley motor...
I changed to amsoil 20/50 on my 2000 FLHRI at 4K miles ,it reduced engine temp 25 degrees and now at 66K miles engine compresion is still like new and the bike has no engine issues what so ever. also I use Amsoil 10/40 in the primary and Belray red in the tranny. all my oils and filter are changed every 3K miles.

You've probably been reading the same thing a lot of us have from someone that may not know what they're talking about.
There was a poster a week ago that posted oil lab test results.
One poster posted that Amsoil damaged his engine. This one I really don't know about. I think if I had evidence that a brand of oil cause damage, I would be talking to the oil company with some proof.
I had some oil lab tested by Blackstone several years ago. I think I may be doing it again soon.
